Czech Republic: Hundreds of people have demonstrated to legalize marriage for all

On September 12, 2019, several hundred people in Prague demonstrated for the enactment of an amendment to the Civil Code that would allow gays and lesbians to marry. The event on Malostranské náměstí was organized by the We Are Fair initiative. The protest wanted to point out that the draft amendment year and a quarter lies in the Chamber of Deputies and have not yet voted on it

In what is seen as a first legal victory for LGBTIQ rights in Kazakhstan, the Central Asian country’s Supreme Court has overturned a decision by the Court of Appeal, saying it “committed a substantial and gross violation of the right to self-portrayal under Article 145 of the Civil Code and infringement of the constitutional rights” of a lesbian couple.
